Hasbro announces their next line of Transformers.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
In related news, I need to go get a fresh pair of underwear.
In recognition of my passing probation at work, as mentioned last week, this week's paycheck includes a big fat raise, plus I started accruing sick time. Woohoo!
Kendry Morales is The Answer.
It's official: The Angels are the suckiest bunch of sucks who ever sucked.
Wow, did I pick the wrong night to go to the Angel/Dodger game at Dodger Stadium.
The Angels were down 4-2 heading into the bottom of the 6th... a big enough defecit already, given they don't score. So when the Dodgers made it 9-2 in the 6th and were still batting, I got up and headed to my car.
Hearing much cheering and more Dodgers being announced as I walked across the parking lot, I figured it had only gotten worse, and was proven correct when I got in the car and turned on the radio to hear a score of 13-2, still bottom of the 6th.
There were some more hits while I drove to the freeway, but it was still 13-2 when the Angels finally recorded the third out as I was getting on the 110.
By the time I got home, it was 14-2 in the bottom of the 7th. As I type this, the game just went final, witha score of 16-3.
I never leave a game early, but tonight was an exception I don't regret making. Watching the Angels get trounced while an obnoxious crowd of Dodger fans are, well, being obnoxious? I can do without that.
I can also do without going to another Angel game until this pitiful excuse for a team gets back to .500. I have a feeling that'll be sometime around April 3rd, 2007...
So, some recent events...
Last Friday, I passed probation at work. I'm now civil service and unionized, so I'm pretty much unfireable. Plus, I get a raise, which is always nice.
I also finished watching the last episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine last week, courtesy of Netflix. I'd been working my way through the DVD's for many moons, but it was really fun to watch the entire series in order. DS9 is now my favorite Trek series. Nothing beats it in terms of character development or depicting an evolving and interesting setting. And Sisko rocks.
Saturday, Emily and I held a poker tournement. Neither of us won, but we both had a lot of fun and got to see friends, which is the important thing. Well, that and winning.
I've been playing a lot of Civilization IV since picking it up on sale on semi-impulse (hard to really call it impulse after playing Civ's I through III) while at Fry's last month buying a new computer. Wow, that's a good (and terribly addicting) game. Gotta play for just one more turn...
This Friday I'm going to see the Angels and Dodgers play at Dodger Stadium after work. Should be fun, but it'd be more fun if the Angels weren't playing like a steaming pile of dog turd this season.
As for baseball teams that aren't stinking, my DC Dragons and Roswell Grays are both sitting atop their division in the BASL, so that's good.
See ya again in three months... or maybe sooner.
